If you found this page, you are probably looking for something. A church that does not lie to you. A faith that does not require you to leave half of yourself at the door. A tradition that takes God seriously without using God to hurt people.

That is what we are trying to be.

The Convergent Catholic Communion is not large. We are not famous. We are not trying to become either of those things. We are a family of communities and clergy committed to ancient Christian faith lived honestly in the present.

We hold the sacraments because they form us. We read the Scriptures because they still speak. We expect the Holy Spirit because the Spirit still moves. We welcome you because Christ welcomed people like us.

A word about who comes here. Some of you grew up Catholic and could not stay. Some of you grew up evangelical and found yourselves hungry for the Table. Some of you have been told for years that you are too much, or not enough, or that your love disqualifies you from communion. Some of you are clergy weary of jurisdictions that promised you a home and gave you a title instead.

We have walked some of those roads. We are not finished walking them.

I will not promise that we are perfect. We are not. I will not promise that this Communion will heal every wound you bring with you. It will not. What I can tell you is that we mean what we say. The Eucharist is real here. The welcome is real here. The work is real here.

If any of that sounds like what you have been looking for, take your time. Read what we believe. Find a community near you. Ask hard questions. Write to us. We would rather you come slowly and stay than arrive in a hurry and leave hurt.

Christ is still gathering a Church. We are a small part of that gathering, and we are glad you stopped by.

Blessings,

Metropolitan John Gregory
