Who are we?

The Connexion of St. Dorothys (CSDD) is a Third Expression community within the Convergent Catholic Communion, drawing its name and spirit from Dorothy Day and Dorothy Sayers—two women of profound conviction, compassion, and courage. Rooted in the “low church” tradition, our worship is simple yet sacramentally centered, with weekly Eucharist at the heart of our common life.

CSDD embraces extemporaneous preaching, teaching, and prayer, relying less on printed liturgical guides and more on Spirit-led expression. We honor the voice of the ancient church in its sacramental depth while seeking a present-day expression that is agile, accessible, and grounded in lived experience.

Inspired by Dorothy Day, we are committed to justice, hospitality, and radical discipleship among the poor and marginalized. In the spirit of Dorothy Sayers, we affirm the value of theological literacy, artistic integrity, and a thoughtful, articulate faith. Together, they represent the twin pillars of our Connexion: action and intellect, service and wisdom.

The Connexion of St. Dorothys exists for those who long for a Church that is socially engaged, theologically awake, and pastorally responsive—where the Eucharist feeds both heart and conscience, and where Christ is encountered in the bread, the word, and the neighbor.

Our History

The Connexion of Saint Thomas Weller (CSTW) was established under the Apostolic Authority of the Convergent Catholic Communion (CCC) in 2021, in honor of the life and legacy of Father Thomas Weller, a co-founder of the Communion and one of its earliest visionaries.

In keeping with the principles of Second Expression Convergent Catholicism, the Connexion of Saint Thomas Weller embraces a fully sacramental and deeply liturgical expression of the faith. Its communities celebrate the fullness of Catholic worship through the formal beauty of the liturgy—prayers of the people, confessions, creeds, and the passing of the peace—while remaining open to the movement of the Holy Spirit in worship, preaching, and pastoral care.

The Connexion came under the Episcopal Protection of the Right Reverend Rebecca Pierce in the year of its founding, with the blessing that it serve as a place where beauty, order, and Spirit-led freedom converge in the service of Christ’s people.

Guided by the memory and ministry of Fr. Tom Weller, whose life embodied both pastoral compassion and theological conviction, CSTW continues to form clergy and communities who seek to live sacramentally, love generously, and serve with joy.
